The New Season: 2017 WOSL Premier Division
London, Ontario – After the chilly winter months of the indoor season officially came to a close this past April, coaches, players, and clubs alike, emerge from the cold with optimism for the new season in the summer sun. This latest edition of the Western Ontario Soccer League is no different. As teams exchange divisions via promotion or relegation, players swapping colours, and clubs reaching out to attract interest and gain early season momentum and fitness levels, there is always a healthy buzz surrounding the pitches of the WOSL during this time.
Below is a closer look at the newest additions to the 2017 Western Ontario Soccer League’s Premier Division.
The New Boys
Wallaceburg “A”
Gained Promotion: First place finish in 2016 WOSL First Division
2016 Record: 13 – 4 – 1 – 43 pts
Notes: The lads from Wallaceburg have found their way back into the premier division following an impressive 2016 campaign. The team last participated in the WOSL premier division in 2013. Welcome back.
America Pumas
Gained Promotion: Second place finish in 2016 WOSL First Division
2016 Record: 14 – 0 – 4 – 42 pts
Notes: America have seen themselves transform from their 4th place (First Division) finish in 2015. The team gained an extra 14 points in 2016 and have earned themselves a place in the premier division for 2017. This will be the team’s first stint in the premier division.

Final preparations and planning will wrap up shortly for all teams as games are scheduled to begin on Friday, May 5. The season kicks off with Tillsonburg A playing host to Wallaceburg A, while America Pumas will gain some valuable premier division experience as they take on Marconi A.
